Hi Ed,

I'm sending in 13 samples for chlorine and chlorine dioxide. You will receive them Wednesday morning FedEx. Please analyze so that I can have results on Thursday afternoon; I'd like to put the report together late Thursday as my client must respond to OSHA on Friday. I've indicated this on the request. Also note that I will send all of the loaned equipment back tomorrow (I want to clean it before I ship it back to you - by this I refer to chicken guts). See attached photo.

Visitor: Hi Ed. I have quick question regarding the 3m OVM sampler.

Ed Stuber, CIH: sure - what is the question?

Visitor: Is this a passive or active sampler? Tube or badge? Can I take an eight hour sample with this or is it only rated for four?

Ed Stuber, CIH: It is a passive sampling device - no pumps are needed. You can use them for 8 hours for most compounds. Beware - not all VOCs can be collected on these badges.
